Totally Sound Tutors’ Fundraising Buys New Stage Piano

No Comments Uncategorized

On December 7th, the tutors at Totally Sound performed together at South Bridge Resource Centre to raise funds for the project.

The tutors were booked to perform at the ESOL (English for Speakers of Other Languages) Christmas Party organised by Douglas Bishop.  They played an upbeat set of classic rock ‘n roll and some contemporary pop songs as well as a few cheesy Xmas numbers. The tutor team was also helped out by the kind generosity of Mhairi, who joined the band to supply some fiddle music for the event and kept everyone on track through a Gay Gordons.

The event was a great success and the tutors were able to raise £462.50 which was donated to Totally Sound.

Some of the money was spent on purchasing a brand new stage piano for the students and it was presented to them the following day at the Totally Sound Christmas Concert.  Some of the students were then able to use the new equipment during the performance and reported that it was a lovely instrument to play.

The stage piano, a Yamaha P35, was supplied by Rae McIntosh Music Room.
